Antecedentes

Manuel Nores es Dr en Ciencias Biológicas y realiza sus actividades desde el Concejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) y del Centro de Zoología Aplicada de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina. Tiene más de 35 años de experiencia en investigaciones ornitólogicas y exploraciones en Sudamérica, por lo cual ha recibido varias distinciones internacionales. Entre ellas:

Miembro del International Ornithological Committee, desde 1990.

Miembro del Executive Committee del International Ornithological Committee: Período 1994-1998.

Honorary Fellow de la American Ornithologists' Union.

Miembro del South American Classification Committee de la American Ornithologists´ Union, desde 1998.

Coordinador por Argentina del Censo Neotropical de Aves Acuáticas, del International Waterfowl Research Bureau, desde su comienzo en julio de 1990 hasta 2005.

Su principal interés es la biogeografía, taxonomía y conservación de aves sudamericanas, sobre lo que ha publicado numerosos artículos en revistas internacionales. Entre ellos:
